Play Dropzone Online
Jetpack over a wasteland, blasting aliens before they kidnap humans—just don’t shoot the hostages or grab an android by mistake. Pure Game Boy chaos.

Dropzone came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by the team at Magnetic Fields and published by Mindscape. It was part of that wave of early portable games that tried to translate the feel of arcade cabinets into something you could play anywhere, trading flashy graphics for pure, repeatable action.
You control a lone astronaut with a jetpack, tasked with defending scientists on a hostile planet. Your main job is to shoot the alien invaders before they can abduct the humans, but you have to be careful not to hit the hostages or mistakenly grab an android disguised as a person. The game plays out screen by screen, with each level requiring you to eliminate all enemies and rescue the remaining scientists to progress. The pacing is relentless; aliens pour in from all sides, and your jetpack fuel is always running low, forcing constant movement and quick decisions. It feels like a tense, high-stakes juggling act where one wrong shot can ruin everything.
