1994 Amiga fighting game. Defeat six opponents in one-on-one combat to challenge the king. Earn coins mid-battle to upgrade fighters and swap them tactically. Choose between weaker or tougher foes to progress.
Game Overview
Elfmania on the Amiga is this weirdly charming beat 'em up where you're basically trying to earn the right to punch a king in the face. You start with a pretty basic fighter, but here's the twist: every hit makes coins fly out of your opponent like they're some kind of piñata. Grab those, then spend them between fights to upgrade your team or buy new fighters—because your starter dude absolutely won't cut it against the later opponents.
The roster's got this goofy fantasy vibe, and the sprites are way more colorful than most Amiga 500 games had any right to be. Early fights feel easy until you realize you're basically grinding weaklings for coins just to afford a fighter who doesn't get flattened in three hits. It's janky in that very 90s way, but there's something satisfying about finally saving up for that overpowered samurai who can actually survive round four.
Just don't expect deep combat—it's mostly about timing your jumps and spamming punches before the enemy does. Still, there's a weird addictiveness to the upgrade loop, even if the AI occasionally cheats.
