Play Enchanter Online
1983 text-based adventure in the Zork universe. Play as an apprentice using typed spells to solve puzzles and defeat the warlock Krill. Amiga platform.

Enchanter came out for the Amiga in 1983, developed by Infocom and published by Mastertronic. It was part of that wave of text adventures where you really had to use your imagination, typing commands to interact with a world you couldn't see. The game fit right in with the expectations of the time, offering a deep, parser driven experience that felt expansive even with just words on a screen.
You play as an apprentice magician, tasked with stopping the evil warlock Krill. You explore the world screen by screen, typing directions like "north" or "east" to move. The core of the game is learning and casting spells; you find scrolls with incantations like "frotz" for light or "rezrov" to unlock doors, and you must type them correctly to progress. The puzzles are challenging, often requiring careful observation and logical thinking, and the pacing is deliberate, encouraging methodical exploration. It feels like a true test of wits, where every solved puzzle brings a real sense of accomplishment.
