I lost way too many balls in the rough early on because I kept overshooting.

The little broadcast-style graphics and commentary snippets make it feel like you’re playing in some tiny televised tournament, which is hilarious when you’re hunched over a GBA in the backseat of a car. Career mode’s got this slow drip of new clubs and courses that actually makes grinding through rounds feel worth it—though I still can’t hit a decent shot on the back nine of Pinehurst.
It’s not a sim, but it’s not pure arcade either. Somehow, it nails that middle ground where you can zone out for a quick round or obsess over shaving strokes off your game. Just don’t blame me when you start eyeing real golf clubs.
