Game Overview
Fastest Lap is one of those old-school Game Boy racers where you’re basically a tiny F1 car buzzing around top-down tracks. It’s got that classic early '90s feel—simple controls, but surprisingly tight handling once you get used to it.
You’ve got three ways to play: jump into a quick Exhibition Race, grind through the World Tour (which is tougher than it looks), or just mess around in Practice mode. The tracks are split between Japan and the US, and some of the corners will wreck you if you don’t brake early enough. Oh, and if you’ve got a link cable and a friend, the two-player mode is chaotic in the best way—just don’t expect anything fancy.
It’s not the deepest racer out there, but it’s weirdly satisfying when you nail a clean lap.
