Fatal Rewind came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, published by Electronic Arts. It was a time when action platformers were everywhere, but this one had a twist that made it stand out. It was actually a reworked version of a game called The Killing Game Show from home computers, adapted for the 16 bit console.

You control a character named Falcon, navigating through deadly obstacle courses set up like a lethal game show. The main goal is to survive each stage, avoiding traps and enemies to reach the exit. The standout mechanic is the ability to rewind time after dying, which lets you undo mistakes, but you only get a limited number of rewinds per stage. Levels are filled with instant death spikes, crushers, and enemies that require precise timing to get past. The pacing is fast and unforgiving, with later levels demanding near perfect execution. Playing it feels like a tense, repetitive dance with danger where every small error costs you.
