Fire Shark came out for the Sega Genesis in 1990, developed by Toaplan. It was one of those vertical shooters that felt right at home on the system, sitting alongside other arcade-style releases that demanded quick reflexes and a steady hand. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it had a certain straightforward appeal that kept you coming back.
You pilot a fighter plane through a series of military-themed stages, shooting down enemy aircraft, tanks, and ships. The main goal is to survive each stage and defeat the boss at the end.
