Play Fugger Online
1988 economic strategy sim for Amiga. Trade 6 goods across 11 cities, compete with 6 players locally. Manage alliances, bribery, and caravan attacks to build wealth.
Fugger came out in 1988 for the Amiga, developed by Bomico Entertainment Software GmbH. It was an economic strategy game in an era when the platform had plenty of arcade action and platformers, so it stood out for offering something more thoughtful and numbers driven.
You control a merchant family trying to dominate European trade. The goal is to build the largest fortune by buying low and selling high across eleven cities, dealing in goods like cloth, spices, and wine. You compete against up to six other traders (human or computer), and can form alliances, bribe officials, or even attack rival caravans to protect your profits. The game moves at a deliberate pace, demanding careful planning rather than quick reflexes, and the economic systems have a satisfying depth. It feels like a tense, cerebral battle waged with coins and contracts instead of swords.
