Game Overview

Full Metal Planete came out on the Amiga in 1989, developed by Cryo Interactive and published by ERE Informatique. It was part of that wave of ambitious sci-fi games that really tried to push what the hardware could do, offering a more tactical take on the mech genre instead of just pure action.

You control a pilot in a heavily armed walker, exploring a hostile alien planet screen by screen. Your main goal is to survive the harsh environment and defeat the alien creatures by managing your energy reserves and weapon systems carefully. The combat requires strategy; you must monitor your shields, choose between different weapons like lasers and missiles, and often retreat to recharge. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is unforgiving, punishing rash decisions. It feels like a tense, calculated battle for survival where every resource matters.
