You pilot a starfighter through five planetary systems, each with branching paths and a boss encounter. The game uses forced scrolling; your ship is always moving forward, and you control its left/right positioning, speed, and weapon fire. Signature mechanics include the ability to select your route at certain junctures, affecting the stages you encounter, and a lock-on targeting system for homing missiles.
