Game Overview

Garrison Disk1 came out in 1987 for the Amiga, developed by Rainbow Arts Software GmbH. It was one of those early action RPGs that tried to push what the platform could do with dungeon crawling, offering a pretty ambitious scope for its time without a lot of the polish you'd see in later years.

You control a lone adventurer descending through over a hundred dungeon levels, fighting a variety of enemies with whatever weapons and gear you can find. The main goal is to survive and gather power-ups while exploring screen by screen, with support for up to five players each choosing unique characters. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially in deeper levels where resources thin out. It feels like a slow, deliberate grind where every new floor brings a mix of tension and small rewards.
