Game Overview

Garrison on the Amiga is basically Gauntlet with a fresh coat of paint—but that’s not a bad thing. You pick from five characters (I always went for the speedy one because magic users felt too slow at first) and dive into these massive dungeons packed with keys, potions, and way too many monsters. The real fun starts when you play with friends, since some levels practically demand a balanced team—good luck clearing a room full of projectile-spitters without someone tanking hits.

The enemies keep you on your toes. Some just shamble toward you, others zap you from across the screen, and a few will drain your health just by brushing against you. Gold and scrolls are everywhere, but half the time you’re too busy dodging fireballs to care. It’s chaotic in the best way, especially with four other people shouting directions over your shoulder.

Honestly, it’s one of those games where you lose track of time because the next level always feels just within reach.
