Game Overview

Great Courts is one of those Amiga tennis games that somehow nails the feel of a real match without overcomplicating things. The controls are simple—just a few buttons for different shots—but timing matters way more than you’d think at first. I kept whiffing easy volleys until I figured out the rhythm.

The courts have this slightly grainy, colorful look that’s pure late-80s charm, and the ball physics actually make sense. You can pull off slices and lobs if you’re patient, and the AI isn’t a pushover even on medium difficulty. It’s the kind of game where you lose track of time because “just one more match” turns into five.

If you’ve got an Amiga or an emulator, it’s still a solid way to kill an afternoon.
