Graneder Musashi RV came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by Irem. It was part of that wave of early action-platformers that tried to do a lot with very little, squeezing big ideas into a small, green-tinted screen. The hardware limitations were obvious, but so was the ambition.
You control a robot warrior, moving through side-scrolling stages filled with enemies, traps, and environmental puzzles. Your main goal is to advance screen by screen, using a sword for close combat and occasionally other tools to interact with the stage. The pacing is deliberate; you have to watch for hidden pitfalls and time your attacks carefully. It feels slow and thoughtful, a game that makes you consider each step before you take it.
