Gyakuten Saiban 2 came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that wave of late GBA titles that really squeezed every bit of charm out of the hardware, with expressive sprites and catchy, memorable tunes. This was the second game in the series, building directly on what the first one established.
You play as defense attorney Phoenix Wright, investigating crime scenes and defending clients in court. Your main goal is to find the truth by gathering evidence, then using it in trial to cross-examine witnesses and expose contradictions in their testimony. Key mechanics include examining locations screen by screen for clues, and presenting the right evidence at the right time to break a witness's statement. A new feature, Psyche-Locks, lets you break through a person's mental barriers outside of court by presenting specific evidence. The pacing is deliberate; you can't rush, and some puzzles require careful attention. It feels like putting together a satisfying puzzle where every "Objection!" actually matters.
