Play Hammerfist Online
1990 Amiga action game. Side-scroller with two playable androids, Hammerfist and Metalisis, each with unique abilities. Switch characters to fight enemies and destroy security bots to progress through levels.

Hammerfist came out on the Amiga in 1990, published by U.S. Gold. It was one of those side-scrolling action games that felt right at home on the platform, with detailed graphics and a sci-fi setting that made good use of the hardware. You don't see many games like it these days, but back then it had a certain gritty charm.
You control one of two androids, Hammerfist or Metalisis, each with their own weapons and movement styles. Your goal is to fight through enemy-filled industrial complexes, destroying security bots and clearing rooms screen by screen. The game lets you switch characters on the fly to take advantage of their unique abilities, like Hammerfist's close-range power or Metalisis's ranged attacks. It moves at a deliberate pace, not too fast, but the challenge comes from managing your limited health and learning enemy patterns. Playing it feels like a methodical, sometimes punishing, trek through a hostile mechanical world.
