Harlem Globetrotters - World Tour is one of those GBA sports games that’s way more fun than it has any right to be. Yeah, it’s got the Globetrotters’ goofy antics—expect behind-the-back passes, ridiculous trick shots, and that classic confetti-in-the-water-bucket gag. But what surprised me was how solid the actual basketball feels. The controls are simple enough to pick up fast, but there’s a weirdly satisfying rhythm to pulling off flashy moves once you get the timing down.
First few minutes, you’re just figuring out how to chain passes into no-look dunks, but then you realize the AI actually tries to counter your tricks if you spam them too much. Played a match where the CPU stole the ball mid-alley-oop because I got predictable. Rude. The courts change depending on where you are in the "World Tour" mode, from neon-lit Tokyo to some backlot that looks straight out of a 90s movie. It’s janky in that classic handheld sports game way, but in a good time-killer sort of jank.
Honestly? Way better than most licensed sports games from that era. Just don’t take it seriously.
