Highway Hawks Disk2 came out in 1989 for the Amiga, developed by Anco Software. It was part of that wave of early action racing games that tried to push the hardware with fast, competitive gameplay. You don't see many titles like it now, but back then it was a solid attempt to blend driving and combat.

You control an armed vehicle from a chase-cam perspective, racing down highways while battling rival cars and dodging obstacles like oil slicks. The main goal is to survive each stage, earn cash by destroying opponents, and use that money to upgrade your car's weapons and durability. Limited fuel means you must collect fuel drops scattered along the route, adding a layer of resource management to the high-speed action. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as enemy drivers become more aggressive. It feels like a tense, chaotic scramble where one mistake can send you spinning off the road.
