Horsez came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by Ubisoft. It was one of those quiet, personal games that felt right at home on the handheld, a time when you could just get lost in a simple world without a lot of noise or pressure. You play as a young caretaker at a stable, responsible for a horse of your own. The main goal is to build a strong bond with your horse through daily care: you brush its coat, clean its hooves, and muck out the stall to keep its mood up. Once your horse is happy and trained, you can enter competitions like show jumping or cross country, or simply go on leisurely trail rides through the surrounding fields and woods. The pacing is slow and repetitive, almost meditative, until you neglect your chores and your horse's happiness plummets. It feels like a quiet, sometimes demanding routine, but there's a real sense of attachment when your care pays off.
