Game Overview
Hostages on the Amiga is one of those tense, tactical games where every move feels like life or death. You control a SWAT team trying to rescue hostages from a building packed with armed terrorists—except the twist is you see everything from a top-down view, planning each step carefully. One wrong move and, well... let’s just say I’ve had more than a few missions end in disaster.
The first time I played, I rushed in guns blazing and immediately got half my squad wiped out. Turns out, slow and methodical works way better—flanking enemies, using flashbangs, and praying the hostages don’t panic and run straight into the crossfire. The pixel art’s simple but effective, and the sound of gunfire still makes me jump. Not gonna lie, it’s punishing, but pulling off a clean rescue feels amazing.
If you like planning under pressure, this one’s a brutal but satisfying challenge.
