Game Overview
Hugo: Bukkazoom! is the kind of game where you boot it up expecting a tame little kart racer and suddenly you're dodging exploding pumpkins while a witch cackles in the background. It's pure chaos—the good kind. Hugo's traded his usual platforming for a rickety kart (or sometimes what looks like a shopping cart with rockets?), and the tracks are just as ridiculous as the characters racing on them.
First race in, you'll probably crash into a pile of goblin traps or get hit by a flying fish power-up—half the fun is figuring out what each item even does. The controls take a lap or two to click, but once they do, you'll be sliding around hairpin turns and laughing at the absurdity of it all. It's got that rough-around-the-edges GBA charm, like someone took Mario Kart and gave it a weird, scrappy little cousin.
Play it alone for the goofy single-player cups, but grab a friend if you can—the multiplayer turns into a glorious mess of shouting and last-minute banana peel sabotage. It's not the prettiest or smoothest racer out there, but man, does it have personality. Hugo’s weird little world somehow makes perfect sense at 200cc.
