Ilyad came out on the Amiga in 1989, published by Ubisoft. It was a side-scrolling shooter that fit right in with the platform's strong lineup of action games from that period, offering a straightforward but polished experience without a lot of the extra fluff you sometimes saw.

You pilot a nimble spacecraft through four distinct time periods, shooting down enemy ships and dodging their patterned attacks. The main goal is to gather fourteen power-ups scattered across the levels and ultimately destroy Baron Arkhon's time machine to restore history. The game uses a screen-by-screen progression system, forcing you to clear each section of enemies before moving forward, and it includes occasional large boss fights that require memorizing attack patterns. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty is consistent but manageable if you learn the enemy behaviors. It feels responsive and direct, with a focus on quick reflexes and careful navigation.
