Impossamole came out on the Amiga in 1990 from Gremlin Graphics. It was part of that wave of colorful, challenging platformers that really showed off what the system could do, with detailed sprites and big, multi-scrolling levels. You play as Monty Mole, a character who had appeared in a few earlier games, but this one took him on a much bigger adventure.

You guide Monty through five distinct worlds, each with its own enemies and environmental hazards. The main goal is simply to survive and reach the end of each stage, which involves a lot of climbing ropes and ladders, avoiding enemies like ninjas and monkeys, and using a flying kick attack. You can also find bombs and other temporary weapons to help clear a path. The game moves at a brisk pace and the difficulty ramps up quickly, with obstacles like moving cable cars and rolling snowballs that demand precise timing. Playing it feels like a constant, engaging scramble where every jump and attack counts.
