Monty Mole’s back, but this time he’s been kidnapped by aliens who want him to fetch some sacred scrolls—typical, right? The poor guy just wanted to enjoy his retirement, but now he’s trekking through five wild worlds, from a frosty ice planet to a jungle full of ninjas and monkeys. Classic Monty.

Gameplay feels familiar if you’ve played his earlier adventures—lots of running, jumping, and climbing ropes, but now he’s got a flying kick (finally!) and these weird alien smart bombs. The levels are packed with themed hazards—snowballs rolling down slopes, mine carts that’ll flatten you, and those ninjas… they’re sneaky. The first four worlds open up in order, but once you clear them, the final one’s all yours.

It’s got that same slightly chaotic energy as Rick Dangerous 2, where half the fun is figuring out what ridiculous thing will kill you next. The Amiga’s chunky pixel art gives it charm, even when you’re getting wrecked by a monkey for the tenth time. If you like your platformers with a side of absurdity, this one’s a solid pick.
