Game Overview

I picked up The Incredibles for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a game developed by Helixe and published by THQ. It was one of those licensed titles that came out alongside the movie, typical for the handheld at the time. You played as members of the Parr family, each with their own abilities, moving through side-scrolling levels based on locations from the film.

You control Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, and Dash across various missions, switching between them to use their unique powers. Mr. Incredible lifts heavy objects and punches through barriers, Elastigirl stretches to reach distant platforms, Violet creates force fields, and Dash runs at high speed. The main goal is to progress through each stage, defeating Syndrome's robots and henchmen, solving simple environmental puzzles, and occasionally battling a boss. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some sections demand quick reflexes, especially when avoiding hazards or timing jumps. It feels like a solid, if unspectacular, adaptation that captures the family's dynamic reasonably well.
