Play Indigo Online
1993 Amiga action-adventure with top-down exploration and side-scrolling combat. Features puzzles, alien hieroglyphs, power-ups, and a dual gameplay mode switch. Uses 32-color visuals with parallax scrolling.

Indigo came out for the Amiga in 1993, a time when the platform was still home to ambitious, visually rich games. It was developed by The Dome and published by Millennium, and it fit right in with the kind of exploratory action titles that made the system interesting. You could tell the artists put real effort into the backgrounds; the parallax scrolling gave everything a nice sense of depth.
You control a lone explorer moving through an alien world, switching between top-down exploration and side-scrolling combat sections. Your main goal is to solve environmental puzzles and collect power-ups while deciphering alien hieroglyphs to progress. The game requires careful observation; you often backtrack to use new abilities in previous areas. Combat happens in a separate, side-on view where timing your attacks matters. The pacing is deliberate, and some puzzles can stump you for a while. Playing it feels like slowly unraveling a mysterious, interconnected world at your own pace.
