Play Insector X (Japan) on sega Online
You control a weird bug-ship that morphs mid-level, blasting through neon insect swarms while dodging webs and chaotic bullet patterns. The Genesis version’s still tough, but less punishing than the arcade original.

Game Overview
Insector X is one of those weird, wonderful shooters that makes you go "what were they thinking?" in the best way. You're piloting this bug-shaped ship (which, by the way, transforms into different forms mid-game—no explanation given) through levels swarming with giant beetles, spiders, and other pixelated nightmares. The colors are borderline seizure-inducing, and the power-ups feel like someone dumped a bag of Skittles into a Gradius clone.
It’s got that classic arcade vibe where you’ll die a lot at first, memorizing enemy patterns while your ship’s wings flap awkwardly. The Sega Genesis version tones down the arcade’s difficulty just enough to feel fair, but don’t expect a walk in the park. By level 3, you’ll be dodging webs and bullet-hell fireflies like your life depends on it (because, well, it does).
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro shooters with personality—or just want to see a game where the final boss is probably a mutated dragonfly—this one’s a blast. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the obnoxiously catchy soundtrack.
