Ivanhoe came out on the Amiga in 1990 from Ocean Software. It was a side-scrolling action game that fit right in with the platform's library at the time, offering a straightforward medieval adventure without a lot of the complexity you saw in other titles.

You control a knight, moving screen by screen through forests and castles, using your sword to fight off various enemies. The main goal is to rescue Rowena, who has been kidnapped. The combat relies on timing your slashes and jumps, and you also get a crossbow for hitting distant foes. The game moves at a quick pace and can be quite difficult, with enemies swarming you from both sides. It feels like a constant, hectic scramble to survive each new area.
