Chunky GBA fighters trade wild haymakers—stiff at first, but counters and combos feel great once you get the timing down. Surprisingly tactical for a game where dudes spin-kick each other into next week.

Game Overview
K-1 Pocket Grand Prix 2 is one of those hidden gems on the GBA that never made it outside Japan, which is a shame because it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You’ve got these chunky, exaggerated fighters throwing haymakers and spinning kicks—it’s not super realistic, but the animations have this satisfying snap to them.
At first, the controls feel a little stiff, like most early GBA fighting games, but once you get the timing down for counters and combos, it clicks. There’s a surprising amount of strategy in picking your shots instead of just button-mashing. And yeah, it’s all in Japanese, but menus are simple enough to stumble through—just don’t expect a deep story mode.
If you’re into arcade-style brawlers or just love weird Konami oddities, this one’s worth digging up.
