Game Overview

Kick Off 3 on the Amiga finally ditched the old top-down view for an isometric pitch, which made a huge difference—suddenly, you could actually judge depth when taking long shots. There’s a World Cup, League, and Knock Out Cup to play through, plus a challenge mode if you want something quicker. The teams all feel different, too—some rely on speedy wingers, others have a rock-solid libero in defense. And if you just want to bash the ball around without worrying about offsides, arcade mode strips out the rules so you can focus on pure, chaotic fun. The simulation mode’s where things get serious, though—mistime a tackle, and you’re definitely seeing a red card.

I remember tweaking the game speed settings for ages trying to find the sweet spot between sluggish and uncontrollable. Once it clicks, though, the passing feels surprisingly crisp for an old-school football game.
