Knight Quest came out for the original Game Boy, a time when handheld adventures were often simple but absorbing. I don't recall the developer offhand, but it fit right in with other quest-driven titles from that era, offering a compact world to get lost in during a long car ride.
You control a knight tasked with exploring a large map, screen by screen, to find and clear several monster-infested dungeons. Your main goal is to recover a set of ancient relics hidden in these lairs. Combat is deliberate; you must time your sword slashes and watch enemy patterns, as just swinging wildly gets you hurt. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, with plenty of backtracking as you find new keys or tools that open up previously blocked paths. It feels like a careful, methodical puzzle where every small victory matters.
