Game Overview

So this is basically the Game Boy Advance version of Peter Jackson’s King Kong movie—except instead of just watching it, you get to play through the whole thing. You start off as Jack, Carl, and Ann, wandering around Skull Island with a machete, grenades, and healing skills (Ann’s the medic, at least until she gets kidnapped—classic). The top-down view makes it feel a little like an old-school Zelda game, but with way more dinosaurs trying to eat you.

Jack’s the main fighter, slashing through enemies with his machete or blasting them with a tommy gun. Carl’s grenades are supposed to be for clearing rocks, but let’s be real—sometimes you just wanna throw one at a giant bug. And then there’s Kong. Every now and then, the game switches to these short, timed brawler sections where you play as the big guy himself, smashing through waves of creatures like it’s some kind of prehistoric street fight. It’s simple, but weirdly satisfying when you get that energy boost after wrecking enough enemies.

It’s not the deepest game out there, but if you liked the movie or just want a quick adventure with some variety, it’s a decent little time-killer.
