Konjiki no Gashbell!!: Makai no Bookmark came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Banpresto. It was one of those many anime tie-in games that filled the library of the handheld, a time when you could find an adaptation for nearly every popular series. This one stood out a bit if you were already a fan of the manga or show, offering a chance to jump back into that world on the go.

You control Kiyomaro Takamine, guiding and supporting the young demon Zatch through turn-based battles. The main goal is to help Zatch become the king of the demon world by winning fights against other demon children and their human partners. A big part of the game is managing Zatch's spellbook; you select spells for him to cast in battle, but they can fail or backfire depending on the situation, which keeps things unpredictable. Between fights, you navigate through story segments told in a visual novel style, making choices that can affect how scenes play out. The pacing is fairly brisk, with a mix of combat and dialogue that doesn't linger too long on either. It feels a little chaotic and silly, just like the source material, especially when a spell goes wildly off course.
