Little Master 2 is one of those Game Boy games that somehow makes moving tiny sprites around a grid feel like an epic battle. You’ve got these little warrior dudes—knights, archers, wizards—and you’re nudging them into position to take down enemies or solve puzzles. At first, it seems almost too simple, but then you realize there’s a sneaky amount of strategy in how you position them.
The sequel polishes everything from the first game—controls are snappier, the puzzles get clever fast, and there’s this weird satisfaction in watching your tiny army actually listen to your commands (unlike some other strategy games). The graphics? Pure Game Boy nostalgia—chunky pixels and minimal animations, but it works because the gameplay’s so tight. I lost way too many bus rides to this thing back in the day.
If you’ve got a soft spot for handheld games that don’t overcomplicate things but still make you think, this one’s a no-brainer.
