Game Overview

I picked up Los Increíbles on Game Boy Advance back when it came out, a standalone release that didn't tie into any particular movie sequel. It was developed by Helixe and published by THQ, fitting right in with the era's licensed platformers that tried to capture a bit of the film's energy on the small screen. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it does a solid job translating the super-powered family into a side-scrolling adventure.

You control different members of the Incredibles family across the game's levels, switching between them to use their unique abilities. Mr. Incredible smashes obstacles and enemies with his raw strength, Elastigirl stretches to reach distant platforms, and Dash runs at high speed to cross gaps or avoid hazards. The main goal is to progress through each stage, defeating Syndrome's robots and overcoming environmental puzzles. The pacing is brisk, with a moderate difficulty that spikes during some boss fights. It feels straightforward but satisfying to leverage each character's powers to push forward.
