Magical Vacation is one of those GBA RPGs that starts off all sunshine and magic school vibes—until suddenly it’s not. You’re just a student at Will-O-Wisp, learning spells and hanging out by the Valencia seaside for summer school, when bam—mysterious monsters called Enigmas start snatching your classmates. Of course, it’s up to you to track them down.
The battles are turn-based with a fun elemental twist—fire, water, all that classic stuff—but what really stuck with me were the weird little multiplayer modes. You can trade spells with friends, visit their hot springs (yes, really) to buff your stats, or just duke it out in battles. The world’s split into these dreamy, distinct plains, each packed with their own quirks and enemies. It’s got that old-school charm where everything feels hand-drawn and slightly offbeat.
Oh, and there’s this whole secret war lurking in the background that nobody talks about. Typical magic school drama, right?
