Ever played a platformer where the main character’s tail is basically a Swiss Army knife of chaos? That’s Marsupilami in a nutshell. You’re this stretchy, yellow, hyperactive furball swinging through jungles, smacking poachers with your tail, and occasionally belly-flopping onto unsuspecting crocodiles. The controls feel a little floaty at first, but once you get the hang of whipping your tail mid-air to extend jumps, it clicks—and suddenly you’re bouncing off vines like a deranged rubber band.

The levels are packed with weird little details—hidden fruit stashes, monkeys that throw stuff at you, even sections where you ride giant rolling pineapples (yes, really). The art style’s got that classic European comic vibe, all bright colors and exaggerated animations. And the music? Cheerfully ridiculous, like a carnival got lost in the rainforest.

It’s not the hardest Genesis game out there, but some of the later stages will test your patience (looking at you, minecart level).
