Play MasterType Online
MasterType is a 1984 Amiga typing game where players type falling words before they reach the bottom. Features multiple difficulty levels, adaptive speed, and high score tracking.

MasterType came out on the Amiga in 1984, developed by Lightning Software and published by Scarborough Systems. It was one of the early titles for the platform, arriving before the Amiga 1000 even launched, and it stood out by trying to make touch typing practice feel like an actual game.
You control a small laser cannon at the bottom of the screen, and your only job is to type words that descend from the top before they hit your base. The main objective is to survive as long as possible while achieving a high score. Its signature mechanics include words that fall at increasing speeds, a variety of difficulty levels that change the length and complexity of the terms, and a focus on accuracy over simple button mashing. The pacing is relentless; you have to think and type fast as the words pile up. It feels like a race against your own keyboard skills, and every mistake brings the end a little closer.
