Play Math Blaster - Episode 1 on sega Online
Dodge asteroids and zap aliens by solving math problems mid-flight—turns multiplication tables into a surprisingly tense arcade scramble. That Genesis soundtrack somehow makes long division feel like a space opera.

Math Blaster: Episode 1 came out on the Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive in some regions, back in 1994. It was published by Davidson & Associates, and it fit right in with the era's mix of educational and action titles. The Genesis had plenty of shooters and platformers, but this one tried something different by blending math drills with arcade-style gameplay.
You control a small spaceship, moving it left and right to avoid obstacles while targeting aliens that drift into view. The main goal is to destroy these aliens by correctly answering math problems that pop up on screen; each correct answer fires your laser. You navigate through a series of themed levels, each with increasing difficulty in both the math challenges and the speed of incoming enemies. The pacing is brisk, and mistakes can quickly pile up if you fall behind on calculations. It feels like a race against your own reflexes and your ability to solve problems under pressure.
