Play MegaPanel Online
Blocks crawl up while you slide them to match colors—simple at first, then suddenly you're scrambling as the pile climbs. Versus mode gets messy fast when you're dumping junk on your buddy's side.

MegaPanel came out for the Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive if you're in that region, back in 1990. It was developed by Sanritsu and published by Sega, fitting right in with the kind of straightforward, competitive puzzle games that did well on the system. It didn't try to be flashy; it just offered a solid block-matching challenge you could pick up quickly.
You control a cursor to grab and slide colored blocks into rows of three or more to clear them. The main goal is to keep the screen from filling up as new blocks steadily rise from the bottom. The signature mechanics involve careful positioning to set up chain reactions and a versus mode where clearing blocks sends garbage rows to your opponent's side. The pacing starts deceptively calm but quickly becomes frantic, demanding fast decisions. It feels satisfying to set off a big combo just as the blocks are about to reach the top.
