MegaTraveller 2 drops you into a massive sci-fi sandbox where an ancient pyramid on Rhylanor has started oozing some kind of nightmare slime—and of course, it's up to your ragtag crew to stop it. The game nails that classic Traveller RPG feel, but with the freedom to just pick a direction and go. You'll bounce between planets, digging up clues, getting sidetracked by local dramas, and probably making a few questionable ship upgrades along the way.

What surprised me was how alive the world feels—each planet has its own weird little stories, and you can easily lose hours poking around backwater spaceports. The slime crisis gives you just enough urgency to keep moving, but never railroads you. Just don't expect hand-holding; this is pure old-school "figure it out" RPG territory. If you ever played the tabletop version, you'll feel right at home.

Fair warning: the Amiga version's interface takes some getting used to, but once it clicks, the galaxy really opens up. You'll want to keep notes.
