Game Overview

Ever wanted to run a kindergarten without actually having to clean up finger paint disasters? Nakayoshi Youchien on the GBA lets you do exactly that—with all the charm and none of the mess. You start by picking your classroom (I went with the sunny one by the window) and suddenly you're in charge of these tiny, energetic kids who somehow have more personality than most RPG protagonists.

The gameplay's a mix of scheduling activities—like storytime or outdoor play—and quick mini-games to handle tantrums or snack time. There's something weirdly satisfying about getting a room full of pixel kids to actually nap. The art style nails that early 2000s GBA look, all bright colors and chibi characters, though good luck navigating menus if you don't read Japanese. Still, the icons are intuitive enough that I figured out how to stop a crayon-based meltdown within minutes.

It's definitely niche, but if you've ever wondered what Harvest Moon would be like if you raised children instead of turnips, this is your jam. Just don't blame me when you catch yourself humming the playground theme music hours later.
