Namco Gallery Vol.2 is one of those classic Game Boy cartridges that feels like a little treasure chest. You get four games in one, and they all play surprisingly well on the handheld—especially if you’ve got a Super Game Boy to add some color. Galaxian’s here (finally without being bundled with Galaga), Dig Dug’s as addictive as ever, and The Tower of Druaga brings that old-school dungeon crawl vibe. But the real surprise? Famista 4, a baseball game that never made it outside Japan until this collection.
What I like is how straightforward it is—no fuss, just pick a game and jump in. The password save system’s a bit dated now, but it works, and having the instructions built in saves you from squinting at a tiny manual. If you’re into retro compilations, this one’s got a nice mix of arcade action and something a little different with Famista. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour to Dig Dug’s underground digging chaos.
