It arrived during a time when handhelds were pushing more complex sports titles, and this one tried to capture the over-the-top spirit of the console versions. The small screen and limited controls meant some compromises, but it was a solid effort to bring that chaotic energy on the go.
You control a team of two players, switching between them to sprint down the court, pull off flashy passes, and launch high-flying dunks. The main goal is to outscore your opponent with exaggerated, physics-defying moves. Signature mechanics include building a hot streak by making several shots in a row, which sets the ball on fire and lets you score from anywhere, and triggering special turbo moves for explosive bursts of speed or leaping ability. The pacing is relentless, with constant back-and-forth action and very little downtime between possessions. It feels fast, silly, and perfectly suited for quick sessions between bus stops or waiting rooms.
