Play NFL Quarterback Club '96 Online
You pick plays with a tiny playbook, scramble with pixel QBs, and pray the password saves your season progress—it’s football, just barely.

NFL Quarterback Club '96 came out on the Game Boy in 1995, developed by Iguana Entertainment. It was one of the few attempts to bring a full football experience to the handheld, a time when most sports games on the platform were heavily simplified. You had a roster of real NFL players and teams, which was a big deal for a portable game back then.
You control the quarterback on every offensive play, calling formations from a condensed playbook. The main objective is to move the ball downfield and score by reading defenses and finding open receivers. Signature mechanics include a passing cursor you must align with a receiver before throwing and a juke move to evade oncoming rushers. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from the small screen making downfield reads a real challenge. It feels like a genuine, if cramped, interpretation of football strategy.
