Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by THQ. You control a team of three main characters: SpongeBob SquarePants, Danny Phantom, and Timmy Turner. Each has a unique ability; SpongeBob uses a bubble wand for close combat, Danny can fly and shoot ecto-blasts, and Timmy employs his fairy magic for ranged attacks. The goal is to explore the island screen by screen, defeat enemies, and collect special items to progress. You switch between them on the fly to solve environmental puzzles, like using Danny's intangibility to phase through gates or Timmy's lasers to hit distant switches. The pacing is straightforward, and the difficulty stays manageable, never getting too punishing. It feels like a straightforward, cooperative brawler where swapping characters becomes second nature.
