Game Overview
Nucleus is this weirdly beautiful Amiga shooter where you’re not just blasting spaceships—you’re fighting through what feels like the insides of some alien organism. Your ship weaves through these pulsating organic tunnels, dodging swarms of bacteria-looking enemies and weird insectoid things. The whole thing has this eerie X Multiply vibe, but slower, almost methodical.
You start with a pea shooter, but those floating power-ups (kinda like Gradius options) quickly turn you into a death machine—if you can grab them without getting clipped. One hit and you’re done, so it’s all about memorizing enemy patterns and not getting greedy. The bosses are these massive, screen-filling horrors that look half-machine, half-creature. Six stages might not sound like much, but good luck seeing the last one without sweating bullets.
It’s not your typical shoot’em-up, and that’s what makes it stick in your head.
