Play Nucleus Online
1991 Amiga action game. 2D side-scrolling shooter with 6 bio-mechanical stages. Destroy alien core. Battle organic enemies, collect weapon power-ups, face bosses. One-hit deaths, limited lives.

Nucleus came out for the Amiga in 1991, developed by Amiganuts United. It was one of those side-scrolling shooters that felt right at home on the platform, blending fast action with a distinct bio-mechanical aesthetic that stood out without trying to reinvent the wheel.
You pilot a small ship through six stages, each a twisting organic maze filled with hostile creatures. Your goal is to destroy the alien core at the heart of the invasion. Gameplay involves dodging enemy fire, collecting weapon power-ups like spread shots and homing missiles, and battling screen-filling bosses at the end of each stage. With one-hit deaths and limited lives, the challenge is relentless, demanding precise movement and quick reflexes. It feels tense and demanding, but beating a tough section brings a real sense of accomplishment.
