Play Outburst (Japan) Online
Blocks drop, you match colors, they burst—simple until the speed kicks in and your thumbs can’t keep up. That little *blip* when they explode? Weirdly addictive.

Outburst for the Game Boy was released in 1990 by Taito, a straightforward puzzle game among the many that filled the handheld's library. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, offering a clean, no-frills experience typical of the platform's early puzzle offerings.
You control a cursor to swap adjacent colored blocks, aiming to create groups of three or more of the same color to clear them from the screen. The main objective is to survive as long as possible against a rising stack of blocks, with the game's signature mechanics being the chain reactions from clearing groups and the increasing speed that forces quick decisions. It starts calmly but soon demands fast reflexes, creating a tense race against the collapsing pile. The satisfaction comes from setting off a large combo that clears the screen just as it seems hopeless.
