You bounce between whacking golf balls through obstacle courses and controlling Hammy to clear paths—it’s mini-golf with way more chaos than putting.
Over the Hedge: Hammy Goes Nuts! is a weird little mini-golf spin-off for the GBA—totally different from the DS and PSP versions. You’ve got these chaotic courses where half the time you’re not even putting normally; instead, you’re smashing stuff with the ball or scrambling around as Hammy to move obstacles out of the way. The other characters handle the actual swings, which feels oddly fitting for a movie tie-in.
Some holes are straightforward, but others turn into this weird puzzle-golf hybrid where you’ve gotta figure out how to clear a path first. Miss par, and you’re stuck replaying until you nail it—unlocks the tougher Challenge Mode, which is where things get properly frustrating (in a good way).
Best part? The multiplayer’s this old-school pass-the-GBA-around thing for up to four players. It’s janky but weirdly fun when you’ve got friends yelling at each other over bad shots. Definitely not what you’d expect from a licensed game.
