Overstorm came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by a smaller studio whose name escapes me now. It was part of that wave of action-platformers that really made the most of the hardware, with bright, clear visuals and tight controls that felt just right in your hands.
You control a young hero armed with a sword, moving screen by screen through a mix of outdoor areas and indoor dungeons. Your main goal is to recover scattered pieces of an ancient artifact, which means exploring every corner, fighting off enemies with quick slashes, and solving environmental puzzles that often involve switches or careful platforming. The pacing is brisk, and some sections demand precise jumps and well-timed attacks, especially in later stages. It feels satisfying to finally clear a tricky room or discover a hidden path after a few attempts.
