Play Pete Sampras Tennis Online
Swing for the fences with Sampras' killer serve, or pick another pro—the ball physics actually make clay and grass feel different. Nail drop shots after a few tries, then work your way up the rankings.

Pete Sampras Tennis came out for the Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive, in 1994, developed by Tiertex Design Studios. It was one of the tennis games you'd find on the shelf next to the more arcadey options, aiming for a slightly more grounded take on the sport during that era of 16-bit sports titles.
You control a professional tennis player, including Sampras himself, competing in tournaments across different surfaces. The main goal is to win matches and climb the world rankings. The game uses a behind-the-player perspective during rallies, and two of its key mechanics are the ability to apply topspin or slice to your shots and a power meter for serving that determines the speed and risk of a fault. The pacing is deliberate, and the computer opponents can be quite tough, especially on higher difficulty settings. It feels satisfying when you finally time a perfect passing shot down the line.
