You’ve got eight real-life U.S. courses, from Sawgrass to Summerlin, and they’re all weirdly accurate for a 16-bit game. The three-click swing mechanic (press once to start, again for power, once more for accuracy) is simple but tense—mess up the timing, and your ball’s in the rough. Or the water. Again.
What I love is how much control you get before each shot. Picking clubs, adjusting spin, even deciding how much to fade or draw the ball—it actually matters, especially on windy days. The Genesis version’s got these cool flybys before each hole, with little pro tips that somehow help. And yeah, the instant replays are a nice flex when you nail a perfect shot.
You can save your custom golfer and stats, which is great if you’re the type to grind through tournaments. Skins matches and shoot-outs add some variety, but honestly, I spent half my time on the driving range trying to stop hooking every drive. Still one of the better golf sims from that era.
